Our reason of being

Plakton is a global brand founded in 1995 dedicated to the development and distribution of comfort footwear.

For nearly three decades, our core collections of cork sandals have been carefully handcrafted in Spain, where experienced professionals select high-quality materials to achieve the highest level of comfort.

As the brand has grown internationally, Plakton has expanded its product offering by introducing new footwear concepts and collections developed under our brand. While many of our products continue to be manufactured in Spain, some newer collections are produced with trusted international partners who meet our quality standards.

Since 2000, our company has expanded worldwide and today our products are distributed across every continent.

How our footwear is made

Plakton is a brand that cares for nature. Since 1995, cork has been the material that we use for the production of almost every product that we created since then on. We always have tried to make products that are comfortable, ergonomic and natural. That is our essence. The harvesting of the cork oak is an ancient process that can only (and should) be done by experts: the descortiçadores. Manual skill and a lot of experience is required to avoid damaging the tree.
